Pronger and Ryan Dingle (who?) for 4 first round picks. Lupul and Sbisa being two of them, a first round this year, and next year, and a conditional third rounder.
We all know that Pronger is a mean nasty guy back there, and in today's game is arguably the true definition of a defenseman.
Pronger is the perfect fit for Philly, he's just their type of player, it's where he belongs. Pronger only has one more year left on his contract, but is seeking an extension. Some Flyers fans have said this instantly makes them cup contenders, and that the powers have shifted in the East. Well guess what? They still need a goalie!
This trade makes Murray look like a genius. Not only does he get to shed salary, he also gets a decent player in Lupul (who was already traded for Pronger once), gets the Flyers top defenseman prospect in Sbisa, and TWO first round picks (still baffling). This also enables the Ducks to resign Scott Niedermayer and Selanne, who stated he is returning.
However if the Flyers win the cup, it will be worth it.
